Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. ~Steve Job
It saddens me when I see people stuck in their lives, spending day after day going to work waiting for the day to be over, so that they can start to do the “FUN” things afterwards.
I’ve got a question for you, and let’s be honest here; Do you wait for the last hour to pass at work? Do you wait for your work hours to be over with so you can leave and really enjoy yourself? Do you often hear yourself say “I HAVE to go to work?” Ever felt like a hamster in a cage, running and running and running but not really moving. Does any of the above sound familiar to you?
How about a change of scenario? Envision yourself jumping out of bed every morning excited to face today’s challenges in your life and work!!
Fuel the Passion Inside
Think about a person you know or have read about, who seems to stick his or her neck out for a special cause, people who glow with confidence and happiness? If you ask me, I would say: Oprah Winfrey, Nelson Mandela, Sir Richard Branson, or even our former president in Iceland, Mrs. Vigdis Finnbogadottir just to mention a few. What those people have in common, is a clear feeling for their personal purpose and passion in life. They uphold their integrity to personal values and follow their visions.
Do we all have a purpose?
Yes, we do! When you start the journey to get to know yourself, you will discover your unique purpose and be filled with the “perfectly green energy” of passion which will bring you to your authentic self. It’s a bit like like pealing off an onion. You know when you peal layers of an onion, the process will very likely bring you to tears. Slowly, you take layer after layer off, till finally you get the the core of the onion(self).
The same applies with the work of finding your true purpose and passion. And the sweetness of understanding your purpose is well worth the few tears to get there.
Oprah Winfrey O Magazine November 2011
In the November 2011 O Magazine issue, Oprah Winfrey talks about her 4-Steps Fulfillment Workbook, where she talks about the profound Passion Test methodology from the co-authors Janet Bray Attwood and Chris Attwood, bringing a crystal clear clarity on peoples top 5 passions in both personal and professional life.
As a “Passion Test for life and a Passion Test for Business” facilitator, I’ve been very fortunate to help and assist hundreds of people to discover their true purpose and passion in life. I’ve seen them going from “clutter to clarity”.
The Passion Test, is an easy, but yet a profound way to stay on track of the things that matters in your life i.e. your passions. It’s a tool I personally use on a regular basis to keep my focus on the things that matter.
Remember; Clarity is Power!
Putting your focus on the things YOU WANT to have in your life, is beyond valuable. When you know where you are going, and why it’s important for you to get there, you will understand better your purpose and gradually feel the clearing of the fog and the dissipating clutter in your head.
And doesn’t that sound like a journey well worth taking?
